Time for the Book Blogger Hop! It is hosted by the lovely Crazy For Books.
This week's question is:
"If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?"
Answer: Yes! I almost always start with the first title. I feel like I need to read the books in the correct order to get the most out of the story.
If you are participating or you found me through the Hop, please leave me a comment, so I can visit your blog or just to say hi. Have a fun Book Blogger Hop Friday!
Swords are for fighting,
Hi elizabeth, thanks for hopping by my blog. I agree, you really do need to read them all in order to get the whole story.
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm a new follower too :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth! Hopping by to say happy Friday. Definitely agree with you about the series. You have to start at the very beginning to get the author's full meaning, in my opinion. Enjoy the weekend! (I'm a new follower)
ReplyDeleteHopping by! I'm a new follower!! You can find me blogging here http://blog.juliealindsey.com/ Love the blog! Happy hopping!
ReplyDeleteI can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series' story
ReplyDeletedoesn't run chronologically.
That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child's Reacher novels) then I don't feel the need to start with book one.
On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch's Battlestar
Galactica novels) can't be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.
Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

Hopping through and now following you. It really is hard reading a book out of order. I try not to do it, but there has been a time, or two, where I've made that boo-boo. Thankfully, those books stood alone.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower! Happy Follow Friday and Blog Hop!!!
