Teaser Tuesday (37)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along, do the following:

•Grab your current read

•Open to a random page

•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's Teaser Tuesday comes from page 213 of The Horse and his Boy (Chronicles of Narnia #3) by C.S. Lewis:

"It was nearly noon on the following day when Shasta was wakened by something warm and soft moving over his face. He opened his eyes and found himself staring into the long face of a horse; its nose and lips were almost touching his."

Here is another teaser from page 251 that I thought was funny:

"And anyone I catch talking about this young lady will be first beaten to death and then burned alive and after that be kept on bread and water for six weeks."

I remember reading this book when I was a kid and loving it! I thought it was a good time to reread The Chronicles of Narnia.

What is your teaser?

Swords are for fighting,

  2. I like that second excerpt -- sounds like something from Monte Python.
Can you believe I've never read any of the Narnia series!

  3. Here is my teaser from The Wolves of Andover by Kathleen Kent (Page 8):

Martha saw it all clear in that moment: this was the instant her place in the family would be decided. If she lost her footing at the outset, she would forever be dealt with as no more than a servant.

  5. That second teaser is awesome! I haven't read these books since I was a kid and I can't even remember what happens in this one! Maybe next year I should go back and reread them. My Teaser is from Firelight, and I've got a giveaway going on, too!
